Family Photo Mini Session Prep Checklist
👗 Wardrobe & Styling
• Coordinate outfits (not match): Choose complementary colors and textures that suit the natural surroundings, think soft neutrals, warm earth tones, or coastal blues.
• Dress for the location: Comfortable shoes for walking paths or the bridge, layers for breezy beach shots.
• Avoid loud patterns/logos: Keep the focus on faces and connections.
• Bring extras: Jackets, accessories, or a change of clothes for variety or weather shifts.
🕒 Timing & Logistics
• Arrive early: Give yourselves time to settle in and explore the location.
• Know your session time: Mini sessions are short, typically 15–20 minutes, so punctuality is key.
• Plan around naps & meals: Especially for little ones, a well-rested and fed crew makes for happier photos.
🧸 Kids & Comfort
• Bring a favorite toy or snack: Something small to keep kids engaged or comforted.
• Prep them gently: Let them know it’s a fun adventure, not a formal event.
• Don’t stress perfection: Candid giggles and snuggles often make the best shots.
🌿 Extras to Consider
• Blanket or picnic setup: Adds charm and comfort for seated shots.
• Props with meaning: A book, heirloom, or seasonal item (like pumpkins or beach hats).
• Hair & makeup touch-ups: A small kit for quick fixes especially if it’s breezy
Welcome
I am a photographer who was born and raised in the High Prairie area. Growing up in a small town hasn't always been easy, however the people in a small town can't be beat. I love my community and am proud to call this home. We have so many beautiful spaces to photograph your family. My family enjoys many of the spaces just to name a few like Alderridge, Snipe Lake, Jack Pines, Joussard, Hilliards Bay, Spruce Point Park and many others. My family consists of my husband Tyson with whom we have been married for 10 years now and we have 3 remarkable children Kevin, Faith and Amelia.
I took up photography 5 years ago because I wanted all families to be able to afford family pictures as I feel memories are priceless and would love for all families to afford them. My husband also bought us a nice camera to go to Cuba with. As I was there I started to fall in love with the landscape and macro photography, and learned a lot about the depth of field. We had a great family vacation in 2019. Then COVID happened. While we were under lock down I continued to develop my skills by playing a game on my phone called GuruShots. I won a few contests and in April of 2020 I was being exhibited in Barcelona, Spain. I was unable to attend due to COVID and its restrictions on the world. I then decided I wanted to upgrade my camera so I chose to charge for family photos. That's how I started my business. From there I have only grown, I now have a studio in my yard where I photograph cake smashes, small family sessions, individual portraits, and Newborn. I do photobooths for events, family, maternity, couples, engagement, wedding. Contact me for more information regarding Individual/Team Portraits and Individual/School portraits.
